Upload/Download File
1. About Feature
The File Upload tab allows users to attach and share relevant documents directly within an actionable item (initiative). This ensures that all team members have quick access to the files they need while collaborating on the strategic plan.
2. Screen Explanation
The File Upload tab contains the following elements:
a. File Access (Public / Private Toggle)
If configured, the tab may display Public and Private visibility options for tasks.
b. Drag-and-Drop Upload Area
A large upload panel where users can:
Drag files into the box
See a highlighted drop state when dragging
Release to upload instantly
Supported file formats and size restrictions are displayed at the bottom of the upload box.
c. Browse Files Button
If not dragging files, users can click Browse Files to select files from their device.
d. File List (Right-Side Panel)
As soon as files are uploaded, they appear on the right side as file cards. Each file card displays:
File name
Uploader name
Upload date
Download icon to download the file
Delete icon (Cross - x) for removing the file (only visible to authorized users)
e. Auto-Save Upload Behavior
Files upload instantly. There is no separate “Save” button. The moment a file is attached, it becomes available for others to download.
3. How to Perform This Feature / Functionality
a. Navigate to File Upload
Log in to your VisionSync account.
From the left-side navigation, click Plan.
Open the required strategic plan using Build Plan.
Select the organization entity and review period.
Open the actionable item (initiative) in Edit mode.
Go to the File Upload tab.
b. Upload Files
Drag and drop your file(s) into the upload panel OR Click Browse Files to select from your system.
The uploaded files will immediately appear in the file list on the right.
c. Download Files
Locate the file in the right-side file list.
Click the Download icon to download it.
d. Delete Files (If Allowed)
On a file card, click the Cross (x) icon.
Confirm the deletion in the prompt.
4. Expected Result
Uploaded files appear instantly in the file list.
All users with access permissions can view and download the files.
Deleted files are removed immediately from the list and no longer accessible.
5. Dependency & Restrictions
a. Uploading and deleting files is permitted only for users with the assigned permissions for that organization entity. b. File access level (Public / Private) controls visibility for all users. c. Acceptable file types and size limits (e.g., under 10 MB) are enforced by the system.
