Delete Strategic Action item (Initiative)

1. About feature

This feature allows users to delete an existing strategic action item (actionable item) from a strategic plan. Deleting an actionable item (initiative) permanently removes it from the plan hierarchy and makes it inaccessible to all users.

2. Screen explanation

A strategic action item (actionable item) can be deleted in two ways:

a. Delete from Edit Actionable Item (Initiative) Modal: Inside the edit modal of the actionable item (initiative), a bin icon is available on the right vertical action bar. Clicking this bin icon initiates the delete flow and triggers a confirmation popup.

b. Delete from Build Plan (Board / Hierarchy / Table View): In any Build Plan view, each actionable item (initiative) has a kebab menu. The dropdown provides actions such as Move, Copy, Add to Watchlist, and Delete. Selecting Delete opens a confirmation popup in the center of the screen.

3. How to perform this feature/functionality?

Method 1 — From the Edit Modal a. Log in to your VisionSync account using your credentials. b. From the left-side navigation bar, click on Plan. c. The Strategic Plan screen will open, displaying a list of all strategic plans. d. Click on Build Plan for the plan you want to modify. e. Select the organization entity and review period. f. Navigate through the plan hierarchy and click Edit on the actionable item (initiative). g. Inside the edit modal, click the bin icon on the right vertical bar. h. A confirmation popup will appear. Click Agree to permanently delete the actionable item (initiative).

Method 2 — From the Build Plan Views (Board / Hierarchy / Table) i. In any Build Plan view, locate the actionable item (initiative) you want to delete. j. Open the kebab menu for that actionable item (initiative). k. Select Delete from the dropdown options. l. The system will display a confirmation popup. Click Agree to finalize deletion.

4. Expected Result

Once deleted, the actionable item (initiative) is removed from the strategic plan and will no longer appear in any Build Plan view or the edit modal. All associated data such as progress, comments, tasks, and file uploads are removed permanently.

5. Dependencies and Restrictions

a. Only users with the required permissions for their organization entity can add, edit, or delete strategic action items (initiatives). b. Deleted actionable items (initiatives) cannot be recovered.
