Add/Edit Progress Sentiment in Strategic Framework

1. About feature

Editing progress sentiment values in a strategic framework allows administrators to define standardized sentiment labels used while adding or editing progress updates for actionable items (initiatives). These sentiments help users understand the current condition of the initiative at a glance and take corrective measures wherever necessary.

Unlike earlier versions, Progress Sentiment values cannot be added or deleted. Only the existing labels, their hint texts, and colors can be modified.

2. Screen explanation

Once you have created a strategic framework, you can edit the progress sentiment options available within that framework.

To begin, select the strategic framework for which you want to edit progress sentiment and click on the Settings option from the Strategic Framework screen.

The Strategic Framework – Settings window contains the following elements:

a. Tabs: This segregates the settings window into multiple categories like “Progress Measurements”, “Strategic Action item (Initiative) Status”, “Task Status”, “Progress Sentiment”, “Contribution Levels”, and “Strategic Action item (Initiative) User Roles”.

b. Progress Sentiment List: This displays the predefined sentiment labels (On Track, Off Track, Neutral). Each sentiment includes a label, a hint text, and an associated color.

c. Default Sentiment Fields: These sentiment types are available by default in VisionSync and cannot be added or removed. They can only be edited.

d. Hint Text: This optional field provides contextual guidance to clarify what each sentiment label represents. For example, for “On Track,” the hint text may specify that progress is moving forward as planned.

e. Color Code: This option allows administrators to assign a distinct color to each sentiment, helping users visually interpret the status quickly.

f. Edit Button / Edit All Toggle:

• The Edit button next to each sentiment enables editing the label, hint text, and color.

• The Edit All toggle allows bulk editing of all sentiment labels and fields at once.

g. Save Button: This allows users to save the updated sentiment values for the selected strategic framework.

3. How to perform this feature/functionality?

a. Log in to your VisionSync account using your credentials.

b. Click on the Settings button from the left-side navigation bar.

c. In the Settings panel, expand Strategic Plan Settings.

d. Click on Strategic Framework and select the strategic framework you wish to modify.

e. Click on the Settings button for the selected strategic framework.

f. On the Strategic Framework – Settings page, navigate to the Progress Sentiment tab.

g. To modify a sentiment, click the Edit button next to the sentiment label. You can update the label name, hint text, and color.

h. To modify all sentiments at once, enable the Edit All toggle and make the required changes in bulk.

i. Click the Save button to apply your changes.

4. Expected Result

Once you have edited the progress sentiment values, the updated labels, hint texts, and colors will appear across the platform wherever progress updates for actionable items (initiatives) are added or modified. These updated sentiments help users consistently interpret the current progress state of their initiatives.

5. Dependency or Restriction

a. The Strategic Framework settings can only be accessed by administrators or users with permission to edit the strategic framework.

b. Progress Sentiment values cannot be added or deleted. Only the existing sentiments (On Track, Off Track, Neutral) can be edited.
