Add Roles
1. About feature
This feature in VisionSync allows you to create new system-level roles with available permissions. This feature is useful if you need to grant specific users a unique set of permissions that are not covered by existing roles in the system.
2. Screen explanation
The “Create Role” screen contains the following elements
a. Role Name (Required): This field requires the role name.
b. Set Permissions (Required): This list contains the set of permissions available in the system. Administrators can select the permissions for the role from the available set of permissions.
3. How to perform this feature/functionality?
a. Click on the Settings button from the left-side navigation bar.
b. In the Settings panel, expand the Organization Settings section.
c. Click on the Organization Roles option to open the “Roles and Permissions” page.
d. View the list of roles available in VisionSync, along with their descriptions and associated permissions.
e. Click on the "Create New Role" button to create a new role.
f. Specify the name of the new role.
g. Select the permissions that are appropriate for the new role. You can choose from a predefined list of permissions. Note: The permissions that are underlined are the system-level permissions and can be attached to the roles that are going to be assigned to users at the parent organization level only.
h. Review the new role, and click on the "Save and Create" button to create it.
4. Expected Result
After following the above steps, you should be able to create a new system-level role with customized permissions for the organization. The new system-level role should be added to the "Roles List" and available for assignment to users as needed.
5. Dependency or Restriction
a. System-level roles can be created by the administrators of the system by default and anyone who has permission to manage these roles and permission.
b. The permissions that are underlined are the system-level permissions and can be attached to the roles that are going to be assigned to users at the parent organization level only.
