Roles List
1. About feature
Roles in VisionSync refer to predefined sets of permissions and access rights that determine what users can and cannot do within the system. The "Roles List" feature allows you to view and manage the different system-level roles available in VisionSync, and assign them to users as needed.
2. Screen explanation
The “Roles and Permissions” screen contains the following elements
a. Role List: This list contains the system-level roles that have been created for the organization in your account.
b. Create Role Button: This button allows users to create a new system-level role in VisionSync for organization accounts.
c. Edit Button: This button allows users to edit existing system-level roles.
3. How to perform this feature/functionality?
a. Click on the "Role" button from the More dropdown in the Top-Navigation Bar.
b. You will be navigated to the “Roles and Permissions” page.
c. View the list of roles available in VisionSync, along with their descriptions and associated permissions.
d. Add new roles by clicking on the "Create New Role" button and specifying the desired name, and permissions.
e. Edit existing roles by clicking on the "Edit" button next to the role you wish to modify, and making the necessary changes.
4. Expected Result
After following the above steps, users should be able to view and manage the roles list in VisionSync according to the organization's needs. Users can create new system-level roles and modify existing ones as needed. After completing the onboarding process for the organization, the system will create two default system-level roles -
Administrator - They have access to everything in the system.
Employee - They have view-only access to the system.
5. Dependency or Restriction
a. System-level roles and permission will be visible to the administrators of the system by default and to anyone who has permission to manage these roles and permission.
