Create Labels and Sub Labels

1. About feature

Labels in VisionSync refer to customizable tags that can be used to organize and categorize different items within a plan. These labels are fully customizable, allowing organizations to create label structures suited to their specific needs. Labels are now created per organization entity. This means each organization entity can define its own set of labels. These labels will appear only when creating actionable items (initiatives) within that same entity. If labels are created at a parent organization entity, they will automatically cascade to its child entities during actionable item creation. Labels created in one entity will not appear in unrelated sibling entities.

2. Screen explanation

The “Labels” window contains the following elements:

a. Label List: Shows the labels and sub-labels created for the selected organization entity in the strategic plan. Each label may contain one or more sub-labels and includes options to edit or remove it. A required checkbox makes it mandatory for users creating a strategic action item (initiative) under that same entity to select a sub-label from that label group. Only labels belonging to the currently selected organization entity are displayed here. Labels inherited from parent entities do not appear on this screen.

b. Label Name (Required): This field requires the name of the label that is being created for the selected organization entity.

c. Add Label Button: Adds a new label to the selected organization entity in the strategic plan.

d. Required Checkbox: Specifies whether selecting a sub-label from this label group is mandatory when creating a strategic action item (initiative).

e. Sub-labels Field: Allows defining one or more sub-labels under the label. At least one sub-label is required, and no two sub-labels under the same label group can have the same name.

f. Back Button: Allows the user to return to the previous page.

g. Save & Submit Button: Saves the labels and sub-labels created for the selected organization entity.

3. How to perform this feature/functionality?

a. Log in to your VisionSync account using your credentials.

b. From the left-side navigation bar, click on the Plan option.

c. The Strategic Plan screen will open, displaying a list of all strategic plans created within your organization.

d. To view labels for a strategic plan, click on Label from the menu dropdown for that plan.

e. The Label window will display the labels created for the currently selected organization entity only.

f. To add a new label, enter a label name and click the Add button.

g. Check the Required checkbox if the label must be selected while creating a strategic action item (initiative).

h. Enter the sub-labels for the label and press Enter. At least one sub-label must be added, and sub-labels within a label group must all be unique.

i. Click Save & Submit to save the labels for the selected organization entity.

4. Expected Result

After completing the steps, you will see the newly created label in the Labels list for the selected organization entity. During actionable item creation, users will see: • Labels created at their own organization entity, and • Labels inherited from parent entities (if applicable). Labels from unrelated sibling entities will not appear.

5. Dependency or Restriction

a. The labels option is visible only to administrators or users with permission to add or edit labels for the strategic plan.

b. At least one sub-label must be present under each label group. No two sub-labels in the same label group can have identical names.

c. The Label creation screen shows only labels of the selected organization entity. Parent labels appear only during actionable item creation in child entities.
