Remove Labels and Sub Labels
1. About feature
Removing labels from a plan allows you to eliminate unnecessary or outdated labels created for a specific organization entity. This helps keep the strategic plan organized and prevents confusion during actionable item creation. Labels are managed per organization entity, meaning you can remove labels only from the entity under which they were created. Removing a label affects actionable item creation only within that same entity and its child entities (where inheritance applies).
2. Screen explanation
The “Labels” window contains the following elements:
a. Label List: Displays all labels and sub-labels created for the selected organization entity in the strategic plan. Each label includes one or more sub-labels and offers options to edit or remove it. A required checkbox indicates if selecting a sub-label from that group is mandatory when creating a strategic action item (initiative). Only labels belonging to the selected organization entity are shown here. Labels inherited from parent entities do not appear on this screen.
b. Label Name (Required): Shows the name of the label being managed.
c. Add Label Button: Allows users to add a new label for the selected organization entity.
d. Required Checkbox: Indicates whether the label must be selected during the creation of strategic action items (initiatives).
e. Sub-labels Field: Used to define or update sub-labels within a label.
f. Back Button: Returns the user to the previous page.
g. Save & Submit Button: Saves all label updates for the selected organization entity.
3. How to perform this feature/functionality?
a. Log in to your VisionSync account using your credentials.
b. From the left-side navigation bar, click on the Plan option.
c. The Strategic Plan screen will open, displaying a list of all strategic plans created within your organization.
d. To view labels for a strategic plan, click on Label from the menu dropdown for that plan.
e. The Label window will open, showing labels created for the currently selected organization entity.
f. To remove a label, click on the Remove button next to it.
g. A confirmation window will appear. Click Agree to proceed with the removal.
h. Click Save & Submit to save the changes.
4. Expected Result
After the steps are completed, the selected label will be removed from the strategic plan for the current organization entity. The deleted label will no longer appear during actionable item creation for that entity or its child entities. Labels belonging to other organization entities remain unaffected.
5. Dependency or Restriction
a. The labels option is visible only to administrators or users with permission to add or edit labels for the strategic plan.
b. Removing a label deletes the label and its sub-labels from the selected organization entity. If the label was cascaded to child entities (inheritance), it will no longer be available during actionable item creation in those child entities.
