View Labels

1. About feature

Labels are used to categorize and group the strategic action items (initiatives) in a strategic plan. The labels help identify related items in the plan, making it easier to track progress, analyze performance, and do impact reporting. Labels are now created per organization entity, meaning each entity can define and manage its own label set. These labels will appear only for actionable items created within the same organization entity. When creating actionable items, labels defined at a parent organization entity automatically appear for its child entities, but this inheritance is available only during actionable item creation, not during label creation.

2. Screen explanation

The “Labels” window contains the following elements:

a. Label List: This section displays the labels and sub-labels created for the selected organization entity in the strategic plan. Only labels belonging to the selected entity are shown here. Each label has one or more sub-labels and the option to edit or remove the label. A required checkbox on a label makes it mandatory for users creating an actionable item (initiative) to select a sub-label from that group when working within that same entity.

b. Add Label: This button allows users to add new labels for the selected organization entity. After adding a label, the user can enter sub-labels under it, which will appear as the user types.

c. Back Button: This button allows the user to return to the previous page.

d. Save & Submit Button: This button allows users to save the labels and sub-labels created for the selected organization entity.

3. How to perform this feature/functionality?

a. Log in to your VisionSync account using your credentials.

b. From the left-side navigation bar, click on the Plan option.

c. The Strategic Plan screen will open, displaying all strategic plans created within your organization.

d. To view or create labels for a strategic plan, click on Labels from the menu dropdown for that plan.

e. The Label window will open and display the labels and sub-labels that belong to the currently selected organization entity only.

4. Expected Result

After following the above steps, you will be able to view, add, edit, or remove labels for the selected organization entity. During actionable item creation, labels will appear based on the user’s organization entity. If the entity has a parent entity with labels, those parent labels will appear during actionable item creation in child entities, but will not appear in the label creation screen.

5. Dependency or Restriction

a. The labels option will only be visible to administrators or users with permission to add or edit labels for the strategic plan.

b. The label creation screen shows only the labels defined for the selected organization entity. Parent labels do not appear here. They are visible only during actionable item creation in child entities.
