Update Organization Entity

1. About feature

The Add Organization Entity is a feature in VisionSync that allows you to add a new organization entity (ex - department, unit, sub-unit, etc.) within the editing organizational structure. This feature is useful for keeping the information about your entities up-to-date.

2. Screen explanation

The “Edit Organization” window contains the following elements.

a. Level Name (Required): This field allows the user to modify the name of the level. Example - Under your organization there are departments so the department could be a level name. In that same way, under a department, there could be units subunits, and so on. Once you modify the level name at any node of the tree it will be reflected on all the nodes.

b. Entity Name (Required): This field allows users to modify the name of the organization entity.

c. Description: This field allows users to modify the description of the organization entity.

d. View Button: This button allows the user to view/edit the statements (ex - mission, vision, value) of the organization entity.

e. Save & Create Button: This button allows users to save the modified organization entity details.

3. How to perform this feature/functionality?

a. Log in to your VisionSync account using your credentials.

b. Click on the "Organization" button from the Top-Navigation Bar.

c. You will be navigated to the “Organization Details” page that lists out the organizational structure of your organization. If this is the first time you will see only one entity in your organization structure that is the name of the organization.

d. Find the organization entity you want to update and select the “Edit Entity” button from the hamburger (three dots) menu next to it.

d. Make the necessary changes to the organization's details in the form that appears.

e. Click on the "Edit" button to save the changes you made to the entity's details.

4. Expected Result

After following the above steps, you should be able to save and view the updated information for the organization on your Organization Details page.

5. Dependency or Restriction

a. The organization entity can be updated by the users who have permission. However, all users should be able to view the entities.
